Summer Trail Conditions
Updated: Friday July 10 @ 3pm
TRAILS ARE OPEN
Mountain Bike
Trails are open and in excellent condition. The weather over the next week is gorgeous so head out and enjoy the trails then grab an ice cold beverage in the Bar & Shop to cool down after your ride. The Shop is open daily (except Tuesdays) from 10am to 4:30pm.
NOW OPEN:
- Happy Camper (Downhill Return): An all-levels, flowing downhill line that drops you right back at the campground.
- BaseCamp to Pop’s Lodge: A short, mountain-bike-specific trail connecting day-use visitors from the parking lot directly to Pop’s Lodge.
- Papoose Connector (First Section): The crew did an amazing job this week despite the heat and humidity to get the first portion reopened! Riders now have a fun, flowy connection between the Rear Hub and Papoose Connector.
IN THE WORKS:
- Papoose Connector Rebuild: We will continue to repair and complete construction from the Papoose Hub all the way to the Bottom Bracket.
- Gene Connector: Coming later this summer, this trail will connect riders from BaseCamp into Gene Machine, allowing for direct access to the Rear Hub.
- Happy Camper: This summer we will complete Happy Camper, along with a gravel trail through the campground, allowing for direct access on dedicated trails into the full trail system.
If you are staying at WinMan BaseCamp (yes, reservations are now open!), mountain bikers can use the road to easily access Papoose Hub and then the new section of Happy Camper to return.
Hiking
All hiking trails are currently open and the forest is incredible right now. We have been mowing and working on all the hiking trails this week and conditions are prime. It is the Northwoods though, so please dress accordingly for mosquitos.
Live GPS Grooming from Nordic Pulse
All dates and times listed reflect when trail grooming was completed on that route. We ask that you wait at least 1 hour after grooming has finished to allow the trails to set-up properly.
