Summer Trail Conditions
Updated: Sunday August 30 @ 4:00pm
TRAILS ARE OPEN
Mountain Bike
Weekend rain worked pure magic on the trails! We are looking at some of the best riding conditions of the entire season right now, and things should stay fantastic over the next few days.
With a little more rain in the forecast this week, conditions are shaping up perfectly for an awesome Labor Day weekend. Hope to see you out there!
NOW OPEN:
- Gene Connector: Our newest trail section just opened, connecting riders from BaseCamp directly into Gene Machine, allowing for direct access to the Rear Hub.
- Papoose Connector: This new trail provides a smooth, flowing line from the Rear Hub, through Papoose Hub, all the way down to the Bottom Bracket.
- Happy Camper (Downhill Return): An all-levels, flowing downhill line that drops you right back at the campground.
- BaseCamp to Pop’s Lodge: A short, mountain-bike-specific trail connecting day-use visitors from the parking lot directly to Pop’s Lodge.
- BaseCamp Gravel Trail: This trail runs between our tent sites at the campground, connecting our two bathhouses. It serves as the starting point for both Happy Camper (coming soon) and Gene Connector which just opened.
IN THE WORKS:
- Happy Camper: Our final new build of the season is coming in the next few weeks. Happy Camper will allow for direct access on a dedicated mountain bike trail into the full trail system and will be designed to ride over and over again.
If you are staying at WinMan BaseCamp (yes, reservations are now open(opens in new tab)!), mountain bikers can use the road to easily access Papoose Hub and the entire trail system.
Hiking
All hiking trails were just mowed last week and are in great condition. The next couple of months should be great with some trees already starting to change color with the cooler overnight temps and dry conditions.
We recently installed temporary signage for our historical tour developed in partnership with the MW Historical Society. Check out our hiking page(opens in new tab) (scroll to the bottom) for more details.
Reminder, all our hiking trails are dog friendly and well behaved dogs are allowed off-leash once on the trails. For more information, visit our dog policy(opens in new tab) page.
Reminder, we have dedicated hiking trails and do not allow hiking on the mountain bike trail system. Please refer to the main kiosk or grab a brochure from the Chalet to help you navigate your next adventure.
Live GPS Grooming from Nordic Pulse
All dates and times listed reflect when trail grooming was completed on that route. We ask that you wait at least 1 hour after grooming has finished to allow the trails to set-up properly.
